the next endeavor: inspired by lotta jansdotter

I’ve been attempting to make checkbook covers according to the design by Lotta Jansdotter in her book. I’m venturing away from her directions which, as a far-less-than-experienced seamstress, tend to confuse me.

Here’s one:

Look how cute! This one doesn’t have a latch. I got into a hurry and didn’t line things up well. You can see how crooked the stitches are, too. I’m not sure how much of that is my lack of sewing skills, and how much is my sewing machine’s old-ness. Anyways. My sister claimed this one and she loves it despite its minor flaws. And that’s what love is about anyway, right? Right!

In other, non-tangible related news, I’m applying to graduate school. If all goes well, I’ll be starting the Counseling Psychology master’s program at the University of Central Arkansas this fall. We’ll see! I’ll let you know.
